How Palworld Breeding Works — Full Guide
Palworld breeding is a core mechanic that lets you combine two Pals to produce an offspring Egg with inherited stats and passive skills. Mastering breeding is essential for creating powerful Pals for combat, work, and exploration.
Step 1 — Build a Breeding Farm
Unlock and build a Breeding Farm at Technology Level 19. It requires Wood (100), Stone (20), and Fiber (50).
Step 2 — Craft Cake
Cake is required for breeding. Cake recipe: Flour (5), Red Berries (8), Milk (7), Eggs (8), Honey (2) — crafted at a Cooking Pot.
Step 3 — Assign a Male + Female Pal
Place one male and one female Pal in the Breeding Farm. Any two compatible Pals can breed regardless of species. The offspring is determined by the Breeding Power Value formula.
Step 4 — Hatch the Egg
After some time the Pals produce an Egg. Place it in an Egg Incubator. Use heat or cooling sources to speed incubation. Common Pals hatch faster; Legendary eggs take longer.
The Breeding Power Formula
Each Pal has a hidden Power Value. Offspring Power = ⌊(Parent A + Parent B + 1) ÷ 2⌋. The result matches the nearest Pal by power value. Our calculator does this instantly.
How to Breed the Best Passive Skills in Palworld
Passive skills (traits) are the main reason to breed rather than catch wild Pals. Each offspring inherits up to 4 passive skills from its parents randomly. Both parents carrying the same target skills maximizes your inheritance chances.

Jetragon (Power: 1000)
The strongest Pal in Palworld. Breed two very high power Pals — the closer their combined average is to 1000, the higher the chance.
Frostallion + Frostallion Noct (Power: 990–995)
Top ice legendary mounts. Breed Frostallion with Jetragon or Necromus for powerful offspring.
